On the Greek island of Thassos, Giola is a natural swimming pool carved in the rocks: here, the crystal clear water is warmer than the sea, which makes it pleasant for swimming.
Giola is located near the village of Astris, a few kilometers from Limenaria and Potos, on the south side of the island. This natural lagoon doesn’t offer any facilities, and it is quite difficult to get to, but you’ll be glad you did: the best kept secret on Thassos!
HOW TO GET THERE: from the village of Astris sunseekers should drive via dirt road for 3-4 km and then have a short walk to reach this beautiful spot.
WHAT TO KNOW: there is no sandy beach in the vicinity, it is easier just to lay on the rocks and dive right in!
