Banana Leaf Chic

martinique-wallpaper-palm

Originally installed in The Beverly Hills Hotel in 1942, the Martinique printed paper is perhaps the most recognizable wallpaper in the world: a banana leaf pattern that is bright and oh so tropical.  It has since graced the walls in homes of tastemakers such as Nate Berkus  and Nicky Hilton, and those of NYC fashion crowd’s favorite hotspot,  Indochine.  A very similar pattern called Brazilliance  has also gained much notoriety in the world of interior decor, as the signature wallpaper of luxury Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. Recently the pattern has been used profusely by fashion designers, which allows everyone to indulge in the lovely pattern without committing to a home takeover.
